Transparent

Where the acquisition method materially affects the review, Digital Plaza may disclose it.


 

5. Types of Reviews

Not every Digital Plaza review has the same evidence base.

To maintain transparency, reviews may be classified according to the depth of access and evaluation available.

5.1 Full Review

A comprehensive evaluation based on substantial product access, hands-on experience and available testing or measurements.

A Full Review normally considers the product’s design, usability, performance, software, features, battery or power characteristics, value and competitive position.

5.2 Hands-on Review

An evaluation based primarily on direct physical access and practical use, with testing performed where appropriate.

It may contain less extensive quantitative testing than a Full Review.

5.3 Research-Based Review

An evidence-led evaluation conducted primarily through technical documentation, specifications, independent evidence, research and competitive analysis when sufficient physical access is unavailable.

Research-Based Reviews will not imply that Digital Plaza physically tested a product when it did not.

5.4 First Look

An early evaluation intended to provide initial context around a product.

First Looks are not necessarily equivalent to a completed long-term review and should not be interpreted as a final assessment of every aspect of the product.

5.5 Long-Term or Updated Review

A review that incorporates additional experience, software updates, market changes, new evidence, extended usage or additional testing after the original publication.

Reviews may therefore evolve as products and their surrounding markets evolve.

 

6. Evaluation Framework

Digital Plaza does not evaluate every technology using an identical rigid checklist.

The evaluation framework is adapted to the product category while maintaining a common core.
